Affordable Training for ARRS Roles in Cheshire and Merseyside

Why is One Wirral Providing Training?

At One Wirral, our mission is to reduce health inequalities and support the healthcare community across Cheshire and Merseyside. We’ve seen first-hand the positive impact of empowering healthcare professionals with the knowledge and skills they need.

With the increased demand for in-person training since the Covid-19 pandemic, we’re committed to providing affordable, high quality training for GP practices and Primary Care Networks (PCNs). Our goal is to enhance the capabilities of healthcare staff, improve patient care, and support a more connected and supportive professional community.

We have been facilitating and creating our own courses for a while now, as we saw a gap in the market to make engaging training for the challenges that healthcare professionals regularly face. With our work in both in the community and in the healthcare sectors, our team utilises their skills and experiences to really help enhance information provided to patients.

The Benefits of Face-to-Face Training

In today’s fast-paced healthcare environment, online training offers convenience, but nothing compares to the effectiveness of face-to-face interaction. Our in-person training sessions provide numerous benefits that virtual sessions simply can’t match:

  • Personalised Interaction: Direct engagement with trainers allows for tailored guidance and immediate feedback, addressing individual needs and concerns.
  • Non-verbal Communication: Body language and facial expressions enhance understanding and engagement, crucial for discussing complex healthcare topics.
  • Immediate Clarification: Real-time Q&A sessions lead to better comprehension and retention of information.
  • Group Dynamics: Facilitates teamwork, discussions, and peer learning, promoting collaboration among participants.
  • Building Relationships: Networking opportunities create a sense of community and support among healthcare professionals.
  • Accountability: Being physically present enhances motivation and active participation.
  • Dedicated Time Away from Practice: Allows participants to focus fully on learning without the usual workplace distractions.

Making Training Affordable and Accessible

We understand the financial constraints many healthcare practices face. Therefore, we aim to make our training as affordable as possible. The more attendees there are, the more cost effective it will be – that’s why we’re encouraging GP practices and PCNs to partner and book together. This collaborative approach not only reduces expenses, but also fosters a sense of unity and shared learning among different practices.

Courses Offered

Our comprehensive CPD accredited training courses are designed to meet the diverse needs of healthcare professionals:

  • Expanding the Cardiovascular Disease Workforce: Focuses on early detection and management of CVD, tailored for ARRS roles and HCAs.
  • Personalised Care for Healthy Weight: Enhances skills for addressing the complexities of weight management.

It was perfectly pitched; the broad knowledge & experience of the trainers, enhanced the programme as they were able to give examples in practice.

It has helped me feel more confident in starting tricky conversations with high BMI patients. It has given me a greater understanding of what patients are expecting of me and how to better meet their expectations.

Each topic was explained in a perfect amount of detail, we were given a good amount of information without being overloaded. I have learned a lot following the training and I started using my new skills the first day back after training, meaning I can have extra clinics for HCA work, aka health checks, BP’s and also urine dipping. This frees up the nurses.
